T5W || Favourite non-book items on shelves

Good morning my lovelies!  Sorry I'm a day late, but wrists were sore after yesterday's session so I didn't get a chance to post this.

This week we have been set a slightly different task - to find our favourite non-book items that we all love to display on our bookshelves.  At the moment I do not have a huge amount of stuff on my shelves as I've had to double up, and in some cases triple, the rows of books on my bookcases so that I don't have piles of books sitting on the floor.  However, I do have some of my favourite knick-knacks on one of my bookshelves so I knew exactly what I was going to show you today ;-D

I hope you like them...

I picked this deer antler up at the Garden Expo last year.  It wasn't expensive, but I liked the way it looked on my wood shelves when it sits with some of the other items on this list ;-D

I found these one day while exploring nearby towns with my mother about 10 years ago.  They remind me of that day, but also I love amethysts, and my mother used to do lapidary as a hobby eons ago.  I still remember her rocks and crystals that I would play with when I was a child.

This is the most recent addition to my bookshelf, and I do love it.  I could have bought the other 2 that belong in the set (hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil), but this was the one I found the cutest.  I love the colour, and he looks so cute sitting up on the shelf with the amethyst, antler and a few brass ornaments I have.

This is a little dragon shelf-sitter that I made when I was in primary school.  My mother used to be into ceramics, and I would often bug her to take me with her on the holidays.  I loved watching the other ladies painting their chosen items, and watching the glazes go on.  Fascinating.  Anyhow, I love fantasy and mum let me paint this little guy with metallic paint.  He's over 20 years old now, but I still love him!

This is my most precious item that sits on my bookshelf.  It is my grandfather's old shaving mug and I can remember being a child and watching him shave, brushing on the shaving foam until he looked like Father Christmas with a huge foamy beard.  When he passed away, this was one of the items that I couldn't bear to part with.  A little beaten up - it's over 70 years old now - it has pride of place next to a photo of us together when I was a small child.

As always, T5W was created by the lovely Lainey at GINGERREADSLAINEY and I'll include a link to the Goodreads group {HERE} if you would also like to participate.

Plus a big thank you to you for taking the time to check out my list.  This T5W topic has been quite personal and it wasn't sure if I wanted to share my Grandfather's mug with you.  But, I decided that this memory was worth sharing with the world as I loved my Grandfather so much and still miss him after 20 years.

And after that maudling note, I'll say goodbye for now and until next time,
