Authors

If I could make a list of all of my favourite books we'd be here for ever.  I have, however, narrowed it down to a list of my top ten authors - in the Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy genre - and the series that make them so fabulous!  These are the books that get read, and then re-read, the most in my house.

So, in no particular order ;-D

  • Michelle Sagara - The Chronicles of Elantra
  • Jayne Castle - Harmony/Ghost Hunters
  • Nalini Singh - Guild Hunters
  • LKH - Anita Blake {the early years} and Merry Gentry
  • Kylie Chan - Dark Heavens/Journey to Wudang/Celestial Battle trilogies
  • Deborah Harkness - All Souls Trilogy
  • Anne Bishop - A Novel of the Others

There are other author's whose works do read at least yearly, like Rhonda Roberts, Gail Carriger, Christine Feehan, Kelley Armstrong and a whole bookshelf full of others, but I did say my top ten didn't I.  As for the rest of my collection, I keep gravitating back to books by these authors;
  • Janet Evanovich
  • J.D. Robb
  • Nora Roberts
  • Jayne Ann Krentz/Jayne Castle/Amanda Quick - The Arcane Society books
  • Stephanie Laurens

I'm totally in love with the Stephanie Plum and In Death series as you probably know by now.  Each year I eagerly await the next book in the series to hit the shelves of the local shops.   I hope they eventually make them into fabulous TV series (then we can forget about the disaster that was One for the Money) so I can collect them too ;-D

Recently I've been adding Cosy Mystery books to my collection so I thought I'd add my favourite authors to the list.
  • Laura Childs - A Tea Shop Mystery
  • Karen E. Olson - A Tattoo Shop Mystery
  • Carolyn Hart - Death on Demand
  • Charlaine Harris - Aurora Teagarden and Lily Bard series

I could keep putting down other authors as more keep popping into my mind - I haven't even touched on the classics yet! - but I have to draw the line somewhere.  I'd love to hear who your favourite authors are, just let me know in the comment section below and I'll give them a go.
