Great series - boring covers!

The cover for the new Stephanie Plum book has been released and I don't know why I am so surprised at how boring it is - but I am.  I keep hoping they'll commission some great artwork for the covers :-)

Years ago, in Australia, they had some more attractive cover art - or at least more amusing - and then we moved into the UK covers starting with Seven Up and ending with Lean Mean 13.

Now, when the new titles come out in Australian bookshops, we have yet another design.  Our first HC, or Trade, will be the same as the US copy {blech}, and then when the smaller format is released, it will be an explosion of a bright background colour with a semi silhouette of a woman in various poses.

While this is more visually appealing than previous/current covers (US), I still wish the publishers would invest in something more dynamic, that draws your eye and makes you want to pick up the book.  The books below could easily have covers adapted into a great new look for Stephanie Plum.

What do you think would make a great cover for Stephanie Plum?
